The Sparkles Singing Academy

Lucy Sparkles & Friends’ Interactive Livestream Music classes have added colour to our daily lives! My daughter has learnt to appreciate various aspects of music, drama and dance, whilst keeping safe at home. We’ve learnt many unique tunes and dances, which we sing and perform on a daily basis. I’m grateful because the classes have helped my daughter to continue to develop her music and language skills, even during the pandemic. Rebecca Chen – Mum of Lisbon (aged 21 months)

My son looks forward to his ukulele class every Wednesday. He was better than me after just two lessons! 🙂 He shows me how to hold and tune the ukulele by ear (no app required!) after each class. The teacher explains everything clearly in a way that children can easily understand. Since starting lessons, he can understand pulse, rhythm and pitch, and is more interested in music, singing and dancing. Out of all the baby classes we go to LS is my baby’s favourite. Sometimes he gets sensory overload in other classes and tends to shut down but LS is just right the amount of song, interaction and movement. I run a little Montessori nursery in North London and the highlight of our week is our music class with one of Lucy’s friends, Harry Sparkles. The children are completely captivated for the entire session! Harry brings such enthusiasm and energy into the room and is so personable he is able to get the shyest of little beans to join in. Armed with his guitar, saxophone and clarinet, as well as a bag full of props, the children have learned so much. We have had to rotate the days that he comes so everyone can have a turn! My daughter had a great Paw Patrol themed party in Oct 2016. Lucy herself was the entertainer and she came dressed as Ryder from the cartoon, so the kids were so excited when they saw her. She managed to keep 30 kids (ages ranging from 3-5) entertained for almost 2 hours – all the parents got to sit down and relax, enjoying a drink and some food, whilst knowing that their children were completely happy. If you want a party where the parents can get to know each other, and the kids can be entertained with music and drama, then this is the entertainer for you. There were 3 boys (including my older son) who had got over excited and bashy, and Ella managed to calm them down and get them involved. This is the second time I’ve seen her work her magic and simply can’t praise her highly enough. Without that 45mins of calm, the cake wouldn’t have been finished, the food would’ve been unheated, the parents not talked to. Our children love Callie Sparkles. She is very enthusiastic when she comes and the children are always excited to see her and what she might have in her special bag this week. She keeps things very varied for the children and every week has something new to introduce to them either by an active game or singing with the key board (in a very high pitch which I can not dream of reaching) or even combining the two and covering music and movement.
The toddlers really enjoy her time too I have never seen them sit so well or so close to anyone before, again I think it’s because she changes things up for them and introduces some variety.
The parents have given some really positive feedback about her too as the children go home with their ‘sparkles’ from her telling them all about her.

I just wanted to write and say thank you to you and Lewis Sparkles for a great time at Lilly and Alfie’s birthday party this week. Lilly was really happy to see Lewis, it was a great surprise and when we asked her what the best bit of her birthday party was she immediately said singing with Lewis. One of the other parents delayed taking her son to pre-school so as he could finish the singing with Lewis as he was having so much fun and I had others crying when their mums said it was time to leave!!
Lewis was so good at involving all the children and how he remembered all their names I don’t know! He managed to make Lilly feel so special and whilst she was a little shy to start with, she was glued to his side… It was great to see! The singing was lots of fun and the children all had a great time.

Ben Sparkles has been with The Park Gardens Nursery for more than a year as a peripatetic singing teacher. He takes the sessions very seriously and is able to manage children of different ages in groups of twelve. He uses a variety of instruments, a parachute and lots of visual aids. Some of the songs are original and they are mixed with familiar ones. He has an excellent record of attendance and is always punctual.
Ben always shows care and commitment in all his work with the children and in turn they love having him here. He will go out of his way to ensure the children in his care are safe and secure at all times. Ben would be an asset to any nursery class.
