I run a little Montessori nursery in North London and the highlight of our week is our music class with one of Lucy’s friends, Harry Sparkles. Ben Sparkles has been with The Park Gardens Nursery for more than a year as a peripatetic singing teacher. My son looks forward to his ukulele class every Wednesday. He was better than me after just two lessons! 🙂 He shows me how to hold and tune the ukulele by ear (no app required!) after each class. The teacher explains everything clearly in a way that children can easily understand. Since starting lessons, he can understand pulse, rhythm and pitch, and is more interested in music, singing and dancing. I just wanted to sing Sarah’s praises after the entertainment she provided yesterday at Zoe’s 4th birthday party. She has a beautiful singing voice, warm, engaging personality, and her enthusiasm was infectious – even to adults. She kept 10 children rapt for 45 minutes, which is a magnificent feat.
